Male is characterized by white stripe on dark brown thorax, on abdomen weak median herring bone pattern. Legs with rings less contrasting than in Sitticus penicillatus. Cephalothorax dark brown with brown long bristles anteriorly, covered with short whitish dense setae except its posterior slope, white setae on lateral surfaces and concentrating into white median stripe. Ventral margin of carapace black with whitish setae.
Leg I brownish yellow (metatarsus and tibia with whitish rings and with grey rings at their distal end, 2 rings on femur) with longer brown and semitransparent light bristles, 2 pairs of spines on metatarsus, 8 spines on tibia, 1 on patella. Other legs similar but slightly lighter and with additional rings on tibia and patella, spines less numerous on leg III but more abundant on posterior legs. Abdomen (fig.257) blackish brown with greyish yellow dots covered with brown adpressed setae and whitish setae forming median pattern resembling herring bone, surrounded by light patches. Lateral surfaces whitish with small grey patches. Anal tubercle with a tuft of whitish setae, spinnerets yellowish grey.
Clypeus brownish yellow with brown bristles and whitish setae and hairs. Chelicerae yellowish brown with a row of small brown bristles on posterior inner margin and 3 fused promarginal teeth. Palpal organ shown on figs.252-256. Sternum brownish grey with small light dots and marginal wing of whitish bristles. Venter yellowish-grey with a trapezium (whitish anteriorly) outlined by lines of lighter dots (plus 2 similar lines medially).

Female.
Cephalothorax dark brown (dorsally with reddish metalic gleam), with long bristles anteriorly, covered with short light semitransparent and adpressed dense setae (except its posterior slope covered lateraly with longer brown adpressed setae). (Cepahlothorax is similar to that of male Stticus avocator but dorsal setae more obscure and less differentiated). Ventral margin of carapace black with whitish setae.
Leg I yellowish fawn, brown annulated (similarly as in Sitticus avocator but legs shorter), spines on metatarsus strong and long: 5 on tibia, none on patella, 5 on femur; other legs similar but a bit lighter. Abdomen (with tissues partially seoparated from tegument) whitish yellow, covered wiith whitish setae, centrally and posteriorly with greyish brown pattern (coverd with brown bristles and setae), similar to light pattern in Sitticus avocator; lateral surfaces with dots. Posterior tip of abdomen and anal tubercle covered with whitish setae, spinnerets yellowish white.
Clypeus brownish yellow with whitish setae and hairs (like in Sitticus avocator but no brown bristles). Chelicerae as in Sitticus avocator but with 4 promarginal teeth. (S.avocator - chelicerae yellowish brown with a row of small brown bristles on posterior inner margin and 3 fused promarginal teeth). Sternum greyish yellow with brown bristles and whitish marginal bristles. Abdomen venterally yellowish white with slightly more greyish median broad stripe. Epigyne shown on figs.258-259. The studied specimen differs from synthetic description of the species given by Proszynski (1968b) by having no yellowish stripe on thorax and the much lighter abdomen. Male characterized by two contrasting white round patches on abdomen, dark brown cephalothorax, contrasting white patches of setae on cymbium and tibia of pedipalps and by contrasting light pigmentation on tarsi and metatarsi of legs I and all segments of legs II-IV (exxcept distal part of femora). Cephalothorax dark brown, laterally with some white adpressed setae and brown bristles laterally to eye field. Eye field blackish brown with reddish and grren metalic gleam, with brown bristles anteriorly, covered with short light semitransparent and adpressed, anteriorly dense setae. Ventral margin of carapace black.
Leg I greyish brown with yellowish tarsus and metatarsus, on metatarsus 2 pairs od spines, 5 weak spines on tibia and 3 still weaker on femur, other legs greyish yellow, segments grey annulated at their proximall joints (similar as in but Sitticus avocator) and with more spines. Abdomen brownish blackish with brownish grey dots covered with dark brown setae and 5 patches of white setae: 4 forming a square (1 pair anteriorly and 1 pair of round patches just behind half length of abdomen) and fifth anteriorly to anal tubercle; latera surfaces blackish brown with yellowish grey patches and dots forming longitudinal lines. Anal tubercle blackish, spinnerets blackish brown.
Clypeus broad, greyish yellow with few brown bristles and whitish setae. Chelicerae greyish brown with lighter longitudinal patches, 3 fused promarginal teeth (4 on left chelicerae on both smaller speciemens). Palpal organ shown on figs.261-267. Sternum greyish yellow with yellowish setae. Venter yellowish-grey with a grey trapezium (similar to that of Sitticus avocator), laterally blackish brown with yellowish grey dots. On dorsal and prolateral surfaces of patella and cymbium brownish patches (variable in area and intensity on different specimens and less developed than shown by Proszynski 1973a:f.2) on yellowish brown background.

【COMMENT: Sitticus ranieri Pecham & Peckhamm, 1909. The name Attus lineolatus Grube, 1861 is preoccupied by Attus lineolatus Sundevall, 1833［=Salticus cinglatus (Panzer)］. However, a taxonomic status of the former species ［e.g. its conspecificity and synonymy with Sitticus ranieri Pecham and Pecham, 1909, as was stated by Proszynski (INTERNET version of his catalogue)］,should be carefully re-studied (for details see Kronenstedt and Logunov, in press).from Logunov and Marusik(2000)】
Male
Cephalotjorax brown, eye field dark brown with a copper gleam.
Abdomen dark brown with remnants of brownish and whitish setae, no traces of any distinct colour pattern.
Chelicerae　with a typical for a Sitticus dentition.
Copulatory organ quite robust with long stylus and long and strong tibial apophysis (figs. 37-39).
Legs dark brown with tarsus and metatarsus slightly paler.
